One Billion Rising

On February 14, 2013, people all around the world gathered in multiple events to dance out violence against women. Safe Space was honored to work with the community to bring this worldwide movement to Butte, MT.
Main Event
Butte Plaza Mall
Safe Space staff enjoyed dancing, music and speaking with the community throughout the day. Multiple prizes were given out, snacks and fun were enjoyed as well. Performances from Miss K's Dance Group, Butte Line Dancers, and the Youth Dance Group from the Indian Alliance were fantastic! It was great to see so much support for One Billion Rising, our participants and to end violence against women!
Zumba Party
Copper Lounge
Montana Tech Campus
What a fun event! An energetic and upbeat crowd of participants enjoyed snacks and Zumba for an hour and a half on campus. Safe Space staff member, Brieanne, was very pleased with the turn out and enjoyed meeting with all those who attended.
Thank you to 94.1 (KOPR) for participating in the event throughout the day. And thank you to the dance groups, dance instructors, volunteers, and the community for rising up against women towards women.
